Learn more about his journey from house painter to CEO of a thriving and successful business
Born to a family of eastern European immigrants, Scott grew up learning that hard work was the only way one could find success in life. After graduating from high school in 1984 he joined the family business, Sendek Painting, with his father. After nearly 10 years of working through the long, harsh Michigan winters, Scott decided to move his young family down south to North Carolina and give them a better life.
Scott continued to work in the house painting and construction business for another 15 years—often working 70-hour weeks to make ends meet and give his kids everything they needed. When the economic crash of 2008/2009 crippled the country, and he found he was out of work, Scott made the decision to move into the home automation trade. He had always loved electronics and computers and felt that the world was on the brink of becoming even more technologically oriented than ever before.
He was right—in the 12 years since Scott started Master Craft Home and Lake Norman Audio Video, home automation has taken off to become a multi-billion-dollar industry. It took a while, but eventually Scott was able to build up his business to include hundreds of loyal customers who can attest to his friendly disposition, his great sense of humor, and how trustworthy and hardworking he truly is.
